LISA CARTER
LISA CARTER
Vocals
Lisa has worked for the past nine years as half of a musical duo. She recently reaffirmed her love for both trad jazz and the reworking of popular modern music into early 20th-century forms. Her vocal range is contralto, the lowest female range, making her a natural to sing songs of Diana Krall, Nina Simone, Sarah Vaughan, Dusty Springfield, plus blues, and most jazz standards. She is honored to have performed with many of the region’s finest musicians, each a maestro in their own right. It was by happen-stance, that Lisa wandered into an Italian restaurant in 2016 where she heard a voice and a piano. She said to her friend, "What a lovely recording, it must be Buble". Her friend responded, "It's live. That's Dave Brinnel". Lisa took Dave’s card, and wondered, "How does someone get to work with that guy?” A decade later, A Couple of Swingers is the result of that 2016 encounter.

DAVE BRINNEL
Performing throughout New England for decades, odds are you've seen Dave in a nightspot at some point. A mostly self-taught pianist, he studied voice with professors from Hart School of Music. In 1984 he had the honor of playing for President Reagan. His earliest musical influences were his mother, and Wayne Newton. Dave is also known for his four-year stint as WRNX morning show host Dave in the Morning (1996-2000). He has released two albums of original songs, titled Alone and Finally, both available on all major music platforms. A lifetime fan of vocal jazz, Dave is very excited to partner with such a world class performer as Lisa Carter.
